Оn the 23th of April, Jana Nikolovska’s first solo exhibition “TRANSCENDENCE” was open in the Cultural informative center – Skopje at 20h.
With this exhibition, I want to embark on a journey that departs from the end and goes to the beginning. A journey of exploration of our inner most selves.
The exhibition takes visitors on a journey through the various dimensions of the human psyche and its inner realm, utilizing five video installations enhanced by soundscapes. As visitors navigate between rooms, they will move through distinct segments of the exhibition. Each room’s video installations prompt a deep dive into self-awareness and introspection. The installations strive to resonate deeply with visitors, fostering a contemplative space about how we live, exist, and coexist.
The setup of two rooms are metaphors for the internal, metaphysical world and the external, physical world. Entering the first room immerses visitors in their inner selves; upon exiting, they return to the external world. Moving into the second room, again they enter their internal experiences before re-emerging into the external environment. This transition between rooms alludes to the interplay and mutual dependence of our internal and external worlds, emphasising the value of introspection and self-connection.
